Whispering Meadows Vineyards & Winery was established in the spring of 2005. Its vineyards took root that year on the family estate located a few miles South of McAlester, Oklahoma. Two short years later, the winery and tasting room opened its doors to the public in the Heart of Historic Downtown McAlester.

This boutique winery is set in the historical building that once housed Newton's Jewelry Store ca. 1901. With its lovely curved glass façade, locally painted murals, signature wine vaults, and charming Wine Maker's Loft, the winery delivers an unparalleled atmosphere for a fun and relaxed family-friendly wine tasting.

The winery features three distinctive Wine Collections available for tasting upon arrival. Tasters can make selections from The Original Collection consisting of twenty-three delectable wines whose labels feature original watercolor paintings of Oklahoma's Native Birds, The Wine Vault Collection consisting of five dry reds barrel aged to perfection in the historical wine vaults located beneath the building, or the unmistakable Behind The Walls Collection with four infamous wines to commemorate the unforgettable McAlester Prison Rodeo and the Oklahoma State Penitentiary that housed it.

The winery also features an extensive selection of wine related gift items, home accents, and gourmet foods that pair perfectly with the award-winning "Wines From The Heartland." With five generations of winemaking heritage, the Stobaugh Family strives to provide an unforgettable Oklahoma Wine Experience.
