Have you ever had a specific idea for a piece of furniture for your home but didn’t know exactly how to find it? That is exactly what inspired Christian and Jake Lowden to create their own furniture. The first thing they created were a few valances for their windows and after seeing the final product they began exploring how they could create other pieces and improve their ideas.

The piece that began what is now Pipes and Sawdust was a set of display shelves that they made for their home. “We were proud of the effort and showed people and they really praised it,” Christian said.

The Lowdens are excited about this business as a new chapter in their lives. They are passionate about growing it from hobby and part-time income into a full-time business. “We are slowly but surely replacing pieces in our own home with ones we have personally made, and our hope is to allow other people to do that as well,” Christian said.

Pipes and Sawdust will be exhibiting at the OKC Home + Outdoor Living Show on March 24-26 at State Fair Park. They are among the 300-plus exhibitors who will be there to showcase their products on the first weekend of spring. You can purchase tickets to the show at a discounted price online.
