The novelty of tiny houses is still making waves in the housing market across the US. Many small homes are a great fit for aging family members or for young people looking for affordable first homes. By definition, a “tiny house” is a home under 300 square feet, and while Smart Cottages don’t exactly play by the same rules - they stretch the definition of a tiny home to meet lots of unique housing needs. They are highly customizable and range from about 600-900 square feet depending on the model. They are built to withstand the elements, and each is rated for specific “wind zones.” Smart Cottages are energy efficient, with temperature control features that use minimal electricity. Each Smart Cottage is created with municipal building codes in mind, so adding the cottage to your home or piece of land is easy and hassle-free.  

Every Smart Cottage comes outfitted with high-tech features like keyless entry, smart thermostats, motion sensor lighting both inside and outside, a doorbell camera, and smoke and co2 alarms that communicate what they detect if an emergency occurs.

On March 27-29, the Smart Cottage will be showcased in the Lakeside Living feature inside the Bennett Event Center. Visitors can tour the Smart Cottage and see its potential as either a house, vacation spots, guest or rental home. Lakeside Living will be a little country oasis in the center of OKC, complete with landscaping, a porch swing and a water feature.
